These two sheets of cards are cards from J Lees Comic Lottery Amusement. This is two sheets of cards (24 cards). There is some damage and repair hence pictures of the backs have also been shown. John Lee was a wood engraver, working in Hatton Garden in the 1790s
Condition - Some damage as the pictures show, a tear that has been repaired on the back (looks more like a crease from the front) - wear at the corners of the "cards" (ie in the sheet) probably from where they were folded and a couple of small holes. The cards are colored and interesting - one states "Good luck, to this good company presents ten thousand pounds with J Lee's compliments" (long s used - so difficult to read initiallly). These sort of cards were often used at twetfth night parties Postage / As postage often changes it will be provided at time of purchase. Postage will be at cost rounded up to the nearest £1.00 to cover packaging.GO TO TOP
